Christine A. Dorchak, President

Christine Dorchak has extensive professional experience in the animal protection movement, and has also volunteered for many humane organizations. She previously worked as Research Director for the New England Anti-Vivisection Society and is a former Director of the Ellen Gifford Sheltering Home for Cats. As host of the community television program Animal Agenda, she has covered the issue of greyhound racing frequently. Christine is a longdistance runner and has participated in five Boston Marathons to date. She is currently pursuing a law degree at the New England School of Law.

Carey M. Theil, Vice President

Carey previously worked as Director of Legislation for State Senator John Lim, and represented the Greyhound Protection League and Stop Oregon's Gambling Addiction in the 1997 and 1999 Oregon State Legislative Sessions. In 1999, he spearheaded a lobbying effort that was successful in defeating every bill introduced in the Oregon Legislature by the pari-mutual racing industry. He served as a member of the 2000 Mulnomah County Animal Control Task Force, and is a founding member of Oregon Defenders of Greyhounds and Friends of Shelter Animals.

Paula Blanchard, Clerk

Paula is a longtime supporter of animal protection who was drawn to activism after adopting a racing greyhound. She is a professional writer and has published three critically acclaimed biographies.

Joe Holland

Joe is a retired teacher from Newton, Massachusetts. He has recently focused his interest in animal protection specifically on greyhounds, bringing to our educational organization the benefit of 35 years of teaching experience.

Lorraine Nicotera

Lorraine is a volunteer for many animal rights and welfare organizations and is involved in wildlife rehabilitation, specializing in birds. She runs a private rehabilitation center for birds and small animals and also does animal rescue. She holds a teaching degree in biology and has extensive experience in humane education in the classroom.

Charles and Marina Cawley

Chuck is a graphic designer and has created artwork for many clients including Starter Sportwear, Reebok and Hasbro. Marina is a Registered Nurse who works in a local hospital. They have become strong advocates for greyhounds and other dogs since adopting two ex-racing greyhounds in 1995. They share their home with three companion animals, Abby and Holly (greyhounds) and Alvin, a cat adopted from a shelter.
